SECRET AFFAIRS
The success of women in every field is evident and indeed motivating. Be it sports or corporate lives, women all around the world are showing their strength and power. Almost every day, one or the other newspaper headline focuses on women being promoted to a superior designation. Truly, today’s modern women are no more limited to the kitchen and are capable of taking on the world.
But, have you ever wondered, what kind of life these successful women live? Is their life after office-hours as content as it is in their professional spheres? Well, surely each one of them has their own story, some successful ones, some failed ones, some are caring in their relationships while some are self-centred. There are a lot of hidden aspects which govern the life of these successful corporate women.
Here are five stories presenting the life of modern corporate women who are very successful in the work spheres while their personal lives are wrought with challenges. Their stories aptly prove how all that glitters is not gold:
1. Raghvi is a 35-year-old marketing manager of an MNC. It’s her third job and she has been a consistent achiever in her field. As the company is planning for expansion, there are chances of her being promoted and transferred to London. This is how her work life is – successful and sorted. But after 7 pm, she is a single lady living alone in a 3 BHK. She has met almost eight men in her life but none of them matched her expectation of a sensitive and supportive husband. One fine day, she bumps into her new neighbor, a 25-year-old MBA pass out, Rohan. They begin talking and later started meeting for coffees, late-night parties and eventually their relationship turned intimate. It’s been a year they’ve been living together but neither of them are ready to commit for the future. They’re focusing on their respective careers and just fulfilling each others’ emotional and physical needs.
2. Mrs Neha Goel is the project head of an international e-commerce company. Her work requires her to commute to different countries for different projects, and each trip extends for up to 20-25 days. Needless to say, she loves her job and is very good at it. However, along with being a successful head, she is also a married woman with 2 kids who are 10 and 6 years old. Most of the time, big and small arguments take place between Neha and her husband for household responsibilities. No matter how much she tries, she is unable to give the required time to her family. Well, this is how her life is, a big struggle of trying to balance family and work.
3. Soniya is a 28-year-old HR head of a successful startup. Soon their company is planning for global expansion and her transfer to another country. Her tight schedule doesn’t have space for any family responsibility or stable relationship. She takes care of her parents’ finances but lives alone in a well-furnished house. She has a big hunger for success and she tries to achieve it at any cost. There have been instances of her sleeping with her senior to climb up in her professional domains. Along with this, she is a lady with strong sexual desires and often calls up gigolos to satisfy her physical hunger. She is determined on her professional growth without bringing any emotional or steady relationship in her life.
4. Ragini is another example of a modern corporate woman. She is a 31-year-old CMO of a manufacturing company. She has always been appreciated for her work and creativity. Also, her interview was published in a leading magazine last month. Clearly, she has achieved stupendous success at a very young age. Talking about her personal life, it’s the exact opposite. Her husband died three years ago in a car accident. Now, Ragini feels emotionally lonely and sexually deprived in her personal life. As a result, she gets attracted to her new team member, Sahil who is engaged to someone else. She fulfils her sexual desires with him as they spend nights in hotel rooms. This is how her professional success hides her emotional grief and an affair based on lust.
5. Another example of today’s corporate women is Mrs Shalini Aggarwal, a 28-year-old customer support team head of an e-commerce brand. At work she manages a team of 30 members, while at her home she looks after her husband and 2 children. Well, the husband can’t really be counted on as he stays abroad for 11 months in a year. Shalini has to look after her professional as well as motherly responsibilities. However, in the midst of all this, she is unable to fulfil her sexual desires. For the past 5 years, she’s been having sex with her husband only once or twice a year. Four months back, she met a 34-year-old divorcee, Arjun in an art gallery. They began talking, went out for coffees and later became a big support system for each other. They once had dunk sex and since that day they both are in love with each other but are unable to find a way forward. For several reasons, Shalini can neither get a divorce nor can she live without Arjun. Can’t Live with or Without became her life statement.
Such are the moments of Accepting their Life Choices without Guilt.. without Regret!
To sum it up, no matter how much one achieves in her successful life, it’s all incomplete without physical and emotional satisfaction. These five women represent how a successful professional might just be an outer perception of a happy life, but things can be completely different inside. The women holding an award in her hand might be hiding several bruises on her body. Psychological Mental Emotional Scars too comes… with the inner turmoil of Corporate Lives.
